Description:
AWA All Star Wrestling September 12, 1981

Bearhug near the 2:00 mark
Yes, Hogan gets a submission out of this. Back in '81, Hogan's bear hug was a gimmicky strong finisher.

The ref here mentions that Hogan has Curtis "high in the air in the Body Vice". I guess that's another way to refer to the bear hug?

WWE refers to this event as something that happened on January 1, 1980, but I'm sure it's just a bureaucratic error. Crazy Max lists the match results from 1981 and clearly shows a date in September of 1981 instead.
