Thursday February 28 2019 - Wrestler40 | Recent matches |
I wrestled today a nice fellow from Globalfight who goes under the handle Wrestler40. He's of European descent, a nice mix of italian and lebanese. It's his first experience wrestling, so I tried my best to make sure that he gets a nice one. We struggled initially to find his preferred wrestling style: he gave me the pro vibe when he told me he watches the WWF/WWE stuff, but as we locked up, it was obvious he was more into the submission style, wanting to take control over his opponent and lock him in a hold that he cannot escape or that forces him to tap. I understood and gradually assumed the role of a jobber, but I was still my mean old self every once in a while by inserting a couple of body scissors here and then... maybe a bit too much, maybe a bit too hard. He didn't seem to like getting scissors as much as I do, telling me that the squeezing feeling is equivalent as what you would feel if you were going to the bathroom... I took that into account and I tried as much as I could to ask him before hand before squeezing him again. It wasn't really necessary since he learned fast enough to use his body to block both my legs to prevent me from scissoring him. I've taught him a couple of holds, showed him how to get out of frontal scissors and I even lifted him up in a bearhug. He also told me that was the first time anyone has ever lifted him up in a bearhug. He came up with some tricks under his sleeves as well. I told him I was his guinea pig and that this was his opportunity to experiment. He had me in this reverse indian deathlock variant in combination with a chickenwing/surfboard. There's not much I can do to get out of that... but yeah, that meant that our match gradually shifted to pro just by the fact that I was cooperating. But then again, this can just be called "Trading holds". We wrestled for a good two hours and half, had some good fun and told ourselves that we need a rematch. So, mission to share knowledge of wrestling to newcomers: Accomplished! | |
